This is a critical point to keep in the forefront of your mind as you move though September. Many of the planets will be clashing with one another from September 15 to 23 in ways I have rarely seen. While the aspects that are coming at us are not unusual - most come by about once a year - what is rare is that they are all happening on the head of pin, on September 17 to 19, days that may be very trying.

Also, with your ruler, Mercury, debilitated, you won't be able to make deals and plans that stick in September. Reset assured, by waiting things out, you wouldn't lose any valuable opportunities. Offers that may seem so glittering in September will look downright old and tarnished in October or soon after. You really do have to ask a number of smart questions in September and table decisions to October 3 at the earliest. I always like to keep some space between the day Mercury turns direct and the date you start an action. That's why I say don't act until October 3 or even a few days after that.

Still, if you've been working hard, your reputation will protect you. I love the developments of this full moon, so perhaps this will be the moment when you land that new source of income. A domestic or family situation will need your full attention at mid-month, due to a variety of factors. Let's have a look.

First, on September 15, we will have the opposition of Saturn and Uranus. Saturn rules responsibilities, established order, and the need to think slowly before acting, but those qualities will go head-to-head with Uranus, ruling unexpected force, the importance of innovation, and the need to act and think swiftly. You could not have two planets more opposite in meaning.

As you see, it will be old versus new, and the new will likely win out, because Uranus is the slower moving planet and has the right of way. These two planets have not met in a tug-of-war like this for 40 years, although they just started meeting November 4, 2008, and then again had another toe-to-toe meeting on February 5, 2009. This will be their third meeting. Two more are due, on April 26 and July 26, 2010, and after that, these two will be done, having finished their assignment. They are not due to meet like this again until 2056. Rare aspects are always felt more dramatically than common ones, simply because they are new and unfamiliar.

This can be and often is a positive aspect. On November 4, for example, the United States had Election Day, and we elected the first black American president, a departure from the type of president we have had in the past. No matter which side of the political spectrum you are on, everyone seems to agree that the American people were willing to try someone new on Election Day. This type of aspect always demands some sort of adjustment simply because it creates new conditions. Usually new challenges create the need for new solutions, hence the reason most people are willing to try a different approach.

In your life there may have been some sudden developments in your career in early February. You may or may not have been privy to the discussions or decisions going on behind the scenes until later. Even if you did not notice much, more things appear to be in the wind now. Your home, however, needs the most attention. Then, on September 23, Mercury, the planet that takes care of you, now in weak retrograde position, will oppose Uranus, an aspect known to be similar to walking over cut glass - not fun. Pluto will enter the fray by being in hard angle to all these planets. Pluto can add an element of unfairness or bring a very demanding and pushy person into the picture.

Into this perfect storm, enter the new moon of September 18 - the timing could not be worse. A new moon opens a new path and usually demands a plan of action, but you won't be ready to design one. You'll feel pulled in many directions, not sure whom to attend to first. Even though your boss or clients won't care to hear about your domestic affairs, it looks like your home and family will need your first attention.

If you get a new job offer that requires you to move, you may be concerned about finding housing in the new area. In fact, you may even pass on a job offer for that reason. Don't worry if this should happen - anything you lose in September won't be much of a loss.

Looking at the whole picture, positions in communication, publishing, lecturing, travel, PR, marketing, and sales will be plentiful from October 15 through early June 2010, so don't worry so much. (Pluto's presence often indicates government involvement.) It may be for something else, such as a tuition bill or to satisfy another major financial promise.

Only a few days after you get through September 23, the day Mercury opposes Uranus, you will see the light at the end of a tunnel. Mercury will turn direct on September 29, so you will start to see the pace of things pick up. Don't be hasty, however - wait until October 3 or even the 5th before you make an important commitment or action.

Throughout the month, Mercury in retrograde will be obscuring facts, just when you'll need the assurance of clear, dependable information to make a decision. With the Sun, new moon, Saturn, Uranus, and Pluto all fighting with one another, all in Virgo-Pisces, signs that challenge, not support Gemini, you will have your hands full.

Fortunately, Saturn, in your home sector, will leave this position next month on October 29 and bring instant relief. Saturn has been in this spot for two years, since September 2007. While it is true that Saturn will come back to this part of your chart - your home sector - in 2010 for 14 weeks, from April 7 to July 21, after that you'll be done. Those weeks will go by quickly, and besides, by the time you reach April 2010, you will have had five months' rest from Saturn. By early April, you'll feel rested and renewed, ready to take on whatever life tosses your way. That will be an advantage.

Gemini with birthdays that fall from June 13 to 20 will feel this month's challenges the most. I tell you this so that you can get ready - dear Gemini, I have no pleasure in telling you this. (Actually, my Little Mom was born June 15, so believe me when I say this.) If your birthday falls earlier than these dates, you have already faced all your dragons and have won. You will not be nearly as affected, not unless you have a number of planets that span 22-29 degrees of Gemini, Sagittarius, Pisces, or Virgo. Don't worry if you don't know. What makes it harder for these late-born Gemini is that these challenges are coming all at once, on the head of a pin. If this is you, the upside is that once you get through this period and finish April to July 2010, you will be done all at once and not have any more challenges given to you from Saturn for 29 years. If you are a late-born Gemini, you may feel that things are unfair, that Saturn is coming back to hover over the mathematical degrees of your Sun in 2010. Actually, everyone feels the direct rays of Saturn for nine months. The late-born Gemini will have only had six months of Saturn's tutoring, so that's why he is coming back to finish up your last part of boot camp.

If you are old enough, you can think back to October 1979 to September 1980 when Saturn demanded similar adjustments of late-born Gemini. I worry that you may experience mechanical failure, so hold off on any trips you don't absolutely have to take. If you are going to be on the road, have your car checked out by a mechanic before you leave, even if you think it's not necessary.

As long as I am brimming with good news, I will add that you will experience a draining period financially until October 15, but after that things will improve dramatically. The aspects of this month, especially at the new moon, September 18, will be strenuous, and could bring a need to spend more, even though you are probably doing everything you can to stem the tide.

A sibling, aunt, uncle, or other family member, may be able to help you with a loan or outright cash gift, thanks to the position of Venus this month in your third house. If you work with people overseas or with a foreign company within your country, this situation may come to your aid by providing extra business and needed money. Publishing and broadcasting opportunities are also a bright spot in your chart due to Jupiter in your ninth house, and fortunately these industries are ones you usually do well in all the time, but doubly so now.
