It's fall and suddenly you're printing recipes off the Internet and stocking your kitchen cupboards with gourmet treats. With Mars, your ruler, revving up your home sector, you will be in the mood to entertain. While you're at it, you may want to give your digs a facelift, and your timing to do so could not be better.
Whether you decide that physical changes to your space would be best ("I could use a cool new rug") or want to change a home-based relationship ("Find me a new roommate - pleeease!") either or both areas show opportunity for progress now. Mars will help you by bringing you ideas, options, and the energy toward your home situation and allow you to finish it if you complete plans by October 15.
Although you'll want to shop, don't. Venus will be in a perfect zone for finding an array of pretty fall home-related things, but Mercury will be in retrograde all month. Mercury is sure to send your judgment off track and moving in all the wrong directions. Later you may wonder why you were driven to buy the items you did in September.
By all means, you can browse stores, do research, and make your list of things you want to buy, but hold off on actually purchasing your new items until October 3 and beyond. The items most likely to bring real problems are electronics and furniture, so wait to buy those in October. If you follow these rules, you'll be able to acquire things you love. Actually, if you do thorough research now, you will be done shopping by mid-October and ready to welcome friends for the winter holiday celebrations.
Not only is shopping a no-no when Mercury is retrograde, but so is making big decisions. Don't hire a decorator, nanny, or contractor, for example, nor make any big decisions or commitments. There are other reasons I don't want you making any big decisions in September, but we will get to those in time. Stay with me. Let's go in chronological order, so let's first talk about the full moon and then I will show you what's due after that. September does bring a lot of shock waves at mid-month, but the full moon should be fairly peaceful, at least for you.
The full moon of September 4 will sharpen your intuition. In astrology, there are times to think and times to act - this will be a time to reflect and to pick up signals in the air around you.
At the same time, you may notice you feel a little less energetic over this full moon. You may have a slightly lower resistance to colds. As you get closer to September 4, if you feel run down or tired, plan to have a very relaxing weekend. The weekend of September 5-7 will be Labor Day weekend in the US, which we all sentimentally think of as the time to mark the end of summer. Even so, don't make this weekend a dash to squeeze in every activity you had hoped to do this summer but never had a chance to do! Take it easy! We all won't be wearing winter coats in two weeks - you still have time!
Plan a slow and leisurely first weekend of September, dear Aries, with nothing more strenuous on your schedule than the duty of flipping a few pancakes for your house guests or taking a slow, sensuous swim in the pool before dinner. This weekend of September 5-7 is meant to reward you for past labors, not give you many more labors to complete!
Mars, your ruler, will be nicely oriented toward this full moon in your home sector, suggesting a weekend puttering around the house - perhaps doing small things to make your space prettier may be your best bet.
If you don't live in the US, this first weekend will not likely be a holiday for you, but you should still take things easy. It looks like you've been on a skateboard for weeks, so catch up on sleep and let others pamper you. Home is a focus, but rather than tear down walls with a crowbar, do a little gardening or flower arranging and make your list for completing more assertive actions in October.
At work, if you feel overworked and ready to throw in the towel, rather than do so now, sit tight. With Mercury in retrograde, whatever job you are offered this month will change once you get there, and not in a way that will please you. Even though it appears that your boss may make a number of staffing cuts, you seem not to be among those asked to leave - that's the good news. Yet you will have to find a way to handle extra work that will fall to you. This is not new - you've been down this road before, and understandably you aren't thrilled to hear this.
It may help to know that once Saturn moves out of your workaday sector next month on October 29, you should see things improve dramatically in months to come. This will be the first time in two years that you will be without Saturn in your house of work. It is true that Saturn will be back (like Freddie in "Friday the 13th" snickering, "I'm baaack…") to make a brief, 14-week return to your work sector from April 7 to July 21, 2010.
Having had a rest from Saturn from late October through early April will give you the energy to cope, and the time will fly by.
Once you get through that period, you will be saying sayonara to Saturn and all the annoying extra work and prison-like rock piles that you have had to handle. Just a little joke, but you know what I mean. You were happy to have a job, but then again, you were so overworked lately that you began to wonder how lucky you really were. Saturn won't be back in this part of your chart for 29 years. You truly are on the tail end of this trend, dear Aries, so it's good to know that, right? Anyone can stick out anything for a few more weeks, and besides, something better is due shortly.
If you change jobs now in September, you are likely to be trading one tough job for another, just when your present job is about to become more than bearable - downright fun. Besides, any new job you get now is likely to be on a level similar to the one you have now.
You want a step up, not more of the same, so wait until the eclipse of January 15 - a new job is coming your way then. In fact, you might not even have to lift a finger to find it as the new job may come to you. I rarely say that things will just come to you, because I advocate a more proactive approach to life, but the aspects in mid-January will be quite astonishing. Any new position you take after January will come with lots more responsibility and power, so I urge you to wait things out. If you are unemployed, of course, you need to take anything you can get - you do need money coming in! But don't get too comfortable in that "anything" job, because a better one may be on the way, a job that will thrill you.
Your health will improve too soon, as the sixth house rules preventative health measures as well as work projects. Your health will improve as soon as Saturn leaves October 29. You won't be able to cheat the rules your doctor gave you - you must stick to them! Saturn will be back during the time mentioned April 7 to July 21, 2010, simply to remind you that you must always follow your doctor's good advice. Aries loves to challenge authority, which is a loveable side to you, but when it comes to health, if you trust your doctor, you do have to listen to him!
The week of September 14 to 23 will be a doozy of a hard week, with one tough aspect coming up right after the other. The mutable signs of Virgo, Pisces, Gemini, and Sagittarius will feel things more directly, and among those, the members of those signs who were born near the 17th of the month. You will probably be more of a bystander to events rather than directly affected, but if you have one of those signs rising, with late degrees (23-29) or planets in these signs in late degrees, wear your helmet and duck for cover. I will explain each hard aspect.
Saturn opposed to Uranus on September 15 will sound the warning that you will need to be a bit more innovative about the methods you use to do your job. If you can harness new technology to be more efficient, then you must do so. Be open to using new software and new gadgets, for example. You may be already doing this, and if so, you won't feel much difference near this date. Just be on the lookout for anything that will allow you to be more organized and focused, and to do things more easily in weeks and months ahead.
September 17 gets my vote for both the most nerve-wracking day of the year. On this day we all will see Uranus opposed to the Sun, and Saturn conjunct the Sun, as well as Mars opposing the same degree as the July 7 eclipse - 14 degrees Capricorn/Cancer. The next day, September 18, Uranus will oppose the new moon, Saturn will conjoin the new moon, Mercury will feel the vibrations on September 23, and again make us all feel the shockwaves.
The outcome of this day and days surrounding it (as there is always a plus or minus of several days) will be unnerving to your work life or love life, and may possibly bring sudden news of your home or property, or involving a family member.
This is not a month to sign a contract - you must wait until the dust settles in October. You'll even see very extreme weather prevailing in parts of the world near September 17, too. In the media, you'll also see both jarring and depressing news in the headlines being hurled at us from left and right.
What can you do about it? We simply have to stop, look, and listen. See what comes up. If you feel work has become unbearable, you may decide to leave soon. Not to worry - as said, your prospects for a superb job are excellent in coming months. Keep in close touch with your contacts. Start to get your resume in order and keep up with developments in the trade papers. With present office demands strong, you need to take better care of yourself, so make sure you eat right.
In matters of love, if dating, don't rock the boat this month - and especially at mid-month from September 14 to 23. Add a few extra days on either side of these dates for good measure. This is not the month to have that "big talk" with your significant other.
When Uranus is involved, you simply can't plan because what comes up is completely unexpected. Still, I feel if something is not working, you are better off leaving it. Who needs that situation? If I had to give this month a theme, it would be "reality month" on so many levels. The planets will be emphasizing Virgo, a sign that promotes analytical, practical thinking, and that is very good in any kind of crisis. I am not saying you will have a crisis, but you may need to help a friend or relative who is in one. You will be thinking quite clearly by September, seeing things as they are, not as you wish them to be. Your advice can now be golden.
The new moon September 18 will ask you to state a plan for the future. You can't really plan for that new moon because much of what you decide will depend on what you learn in the days leading to that new moon and what transpires just shortly after it appears. Co-workers may get on your nerves this month, too, but if so, just let them be.
That new moon is a gorgeous new moon for starting a new fitness program. Don't wait until January 1 to enact your New Year's resolution for health and fitness - do it now, in the days following September 18. In January you won't have this superb new moon for health behind you!
With all the unusual news coming to everyone this month, you might as well work out tensions at the gym. Sometimes having a buddy or a trainer helps you stay motivated, so consider doing your plan with a friend, or if you can afford it, treat yourself to one or two training sessions a month. If you start now, you'll be one hot Aries on the dance floor come the year-end holidays!
This new moon is also a great time to schedule a flu shot (if your doctor agrees you should have one), get your teeth cleaned and examined, and have all the other little checkups you've been meaning to have done.
Romance is going to go SO much better next month, especially in the second half, that I don't want you to worry one bit about the way things go. This month seems to be one that will set us back on track if we have come off the rails. If you've been realistic all along, you won't be overly jolted by what comes up.
Romance this month will be best for you on September 1, 2, 5-6, 11, and 29.
Summary
What is your idea of home? This may be the question of the moment as you make a flurry of decisions that will improve your living situation. Never liked that brown couch? It's time to buy a white one on sale - but wait until October to do so. Living too far from work? Look into moving closer. Eclipses of last July lit you to action, and now, Mars, your ruler, has arrived to add even more power and light to this area. When it comes to home, be brave, for no plan will be too grand to complete. The perfect timing would be to plan in September but to act in October. Aim to get things done by October 15.
Over the full moon period of September 4, you may have a dream or certain feeling, and you must heed the message. That moon will be in direct and friendly contact with Mars, so your psychic thoughts may have something to do with your mother or other close, nurturing female relative. You may want to spend more time together as a result - a good idea, especially in early September.
At mid-month certain harsh realities will be made apparent and you will have little choice but to bite the bullet and let go of the idea that certain circumstances will improve without your intervention. The focus seems to concern a work project, a relationship with a co-worker or underling, a love relationship, or certain career news that comes to light. It's a tough time for everyone near September 17, but you are fortunate that you are not going to be in the eye of the storm. (Virgo, Pisces, Gemini, and Sagittarius will be, but only if born near the 17th of their respective months.)
You have clearly been doing well in your career, and in recent months your status has been rising. If you haven't seen evidence of this, or if you feel progress hasn't been sufficient, it may be because you are still hanging on to the past. Move on, and the picture will improve almost immediately. By the new moon September 18, it will be time to announce your plans and let the pieces fall where they may. Something is reaching the breaking point. Let it happen. Nothing can hurt you now.
The second half of the month will also be time to pay attention to your body's needs and treat it with the tender loving care it deserves. If you've not been eating right, sleeping enough, and working out regularly, make time for your body. If you don't, your body will rebel now.
Romance will be perky during the first three weeks, as Venus will tour your true love house. It's a fine time for salon visits, hair touchups and trims, and new makeup, but not for buying pricey jewelry or clothing.
The only truly dreadful night for date night will be when Saturn conjoins the Sun, September 17. The Sun rules your house of love, and Saturn, the cold, frozen planet, would not be a friendly element to the Sun. At the same time, Uranus will add a jarring note - things will go wrong and in the weirdest way. Sometimes it really is a good idea to stay home with a good book or rent a few movies.
Dates to Note
Home-related plans will race forward, thanks to your ruling planet, Mars, brightening your home sector, August 26 to October 15. Make mid-October your deadline for all work to be done.
You'll be downright psychic over the full moon September 4. Take seriously any stirrings you pick up.
On September 15 the rare opposition of Saturn and Uranus will bring you the realization that old ways just won't quite work anymore - you need to try a new approach.
Things will become quite tense and serious on September 17 when weaknesses in an in relationship or endeavor will surface very dramatically. The message will be out with the old, in with the new.
September 21-23 will bring more extreme tensions to bear. Keep a careful eye on your health and do all you can to stay strong. At work, treat co-workers with restraint (even if you feel like boxing their ears), lest one call the human resources department to complain.
Need to sign a contract? September is not the month to do so. Wait until October.
Make your health a priority after September 18. Schedule appointments, tests, and surgical procedures. Also, be sure to add dental exams to your list.
Mercury will go retrograde September 7 to 29, but you will feel the slowdown of your daily pace all month. Double check assumptions and check for flaws in all you do at work.
Romantically, Venus in Leo will be a big plus September 1-20. Despite tensions in other parts of life, your love life should be a brilliantly strong spot.
Buy new make-up, schedule spa treatments, and have hair trimmed while Venus smiles on you, September 1-20.
Romance will be best September 1, 2, 5-6, 11, and 29.
